Real-World Examples

This problem is very similar to the one presented in Chapter 9. It therefore applies to the same types of customers. Any time someone is responsible for reporting on the status or state of a project or process you find users constructing briefings. We see this all the time, with military and commercial customers alike. Each type of a process has a specific PowerPoint template and each briefing involves a user or team of users gathering the necessary information to populate the template with content. This requires the team to dig through old emails in organizational mailboxes, search file shares, or even copy data from the user interfaces of other applications. The result is a waste of productivity and an increase in the chance of an error when transferring the information into the PowerPoint presentation.
