Summary

This chapter began with an overview of the Bing Maps control and walked through the creation of a Bing Maps API key. You saw how to customize the Bing Maps control by hiding the Bing logo and copyright text, how to programmatically zoom and pan the map, and how to create a customized zoom bar.

The chapter then continued on from the previous chapter to look at tracking the IGeoPositionWatcher.PositionChanged event within the Bing Maps control.

Next the chapter examined the Pushpin control and illustrated how it is used to identify locations of interest on the map. The Pushpin control contains a Location property, allowing it to be automatically positioned on a map layer. You saw how to generate pushpins from POCO collections and how to customize the appearance of pushpins using a custom style and control template.
