Pretty decent book for someone starting out on Objective-C.  However, the one issue I found with trying to even compile the code on my Macbook was that the examples would not compile command line.

I consistently got errors pertaining to the x86_64 framework.  Additionally, the printF for NSString examples do not work.

I think it's time for a more up to date revision of this good beginning book.

If you are an "absolute beginner", you'll breeze from the really basic "Hello World" (which is useless, other than saying that you managed to run your first program) to reading about threads and exceptions which you will probably won't understand in the first place if you're an absolute beginner.

Every chapter can be read in ONE PAGE. The rest of each chapter repeats the exact same thing said at the introduction, with the same example.

Finally, either absolute beginner or experienced programmer, after reading the book you'll probable understand the basic constructs of Objective-c, but you will be nowhere near to start doing anything useful for your iPad or iPhone. You don't get to know anything about Cocoa, its frameworks, even classes available to build a basic GUI.

Pity.

Good book for absolute beginners with prior knowledge of C/C++ programming language. I was able to breeze through the book in 4 days.
