There have been other Scala books, but this is quite simply the best written most concise and clear Scala resource I have read. This is the first Scala book I have felt really confident about recommending to others.

This is a recent and welcome addition to Safari.
While covering the comprehensively and in great detail, this is more than a reference manual. It shows how Scala is designed to help programmer's to keep code clean, and in so doing provides insight into what clean code is and how a programming language aid or hinder its production.
The writing is top quality; every language should have such a book.
