You are well on your way to getting this project in motion. You now understand what the project is expected to produce and what the outcomes will look like, and you have an understanding of the logical order of the project work. You have identified resource types, and you have a high-level idea of how long the project activities will take.

Now it's time to identify and assign the resources that you need to complete the work of the project. This process includes identifying people (those folks who will perform the project tasks to satisfy the requirements of the deliverables) as well as equipment and materials. You may have already named some key team members and even involved them in the project scope statement and activity definition processes. But it's difficult to identify and assign all the team members on a project team without knowing what the activities and tasks of the project are.
