However, to illustrate what specialist success criteria may be, consider the way an IT specialist may foresee success. They may expect that the code has been written in the most up-to-date language, or that a parti- cular systems development life cycle was used, or that testing conformed to certain mandated policies. Yet although these may be completely irrelevant to other specialists or users, they are impor- tant to the project because someone with a particular perspective has highlighted these matters.
