09 What do I do when it's time to deliver? > The post-project period - Pg. 238

238 Effective Project Management Explain to the project steering group what closure means for you, the project manager: work identified on the project plan is complete, so the plan is no longer necessary. It will be brought up-to-date and filed; post-project actions will be handed over to the post-project governance team, whoever they may be; project cost codes will have been prepared for closure, ensuring that only committed and authorized un-invoiced spend is charged to them; project team members will be told of the closure and their line managers instructed to seek new engagements for them; you will, if desired, offer feedback to each team member for use during their regular performance appraisals; sufficient budget will have been set aside to fund a `lessons learned' review, which will be scheduled for as many project participants as possible, including the project steering group.
