Online public relations in Germany is not as evolved as in the United States, but there are loads of options that can be really helpful for media relations and search marketing via press releases. There are several good vendors that should be able to help you in both cases. Marketwire works well for direct-to-media distribution, but for search visibility, it is not our favorite. In Germany, we prefer channels such as OpenPr.de, Presseanzeiger.de, prcenter.de, and firmenpresse.de. There are also the eNewsPR and NewsCertain networks.
To maximize the effectiveness of your online press releases, write all the copy in German and send it through .de channels or at least channels focusing on Europe. You might want to look at channels like OpenPR.de that normally gets good pick-up both on Google Web and Google News. We highly recommend you have a native speaker translate your copy and then also have it read over by a second reader to make sure that obvious words and phrases are not left out.
