18. Mexico

Online Mexico is truly a land of opportunities, with a fast-growing ecommerce and Internet penetration. Until recently, Internet usage was restricted, a result of dismal socioeconomic conditions and low penetration of personal computers. This has now changed and in 2011’s Mexico, 30.6 million people, 27.7 percent of the population, have access to the Internet according to AMIPCI (La Asociación Mexicana de Internet), a rise from 2.7 percent in 2000. Two-thirds of those online are adolescents and young adults, comprising a market that will grow as they do.
