MANAGING THE MILIEU OF THE PROJECT
What does the project manager actually manage? Simply, there are four aspects of the project that need to be recognized as being in need of managing: 1) the project, 2) the project team, 3) the functional managers associated with the project, and 4) the stakeholders.
The Project
The project can be characterized simply in terms of eight concepts: 1) what, 2) why, 3) where, 4) when, 5) who, 6) how, 7) how much, and 8) within what limits.
