Now that you've learned to play by the new rules of YouTube marketing, remember this: The rules can be “changed, amended, or deleted by any player(s) involved.” Remember, YouTube didn't become the largest worldwide video sharing community by getting there “firstest with the mostest.” As I mentioned in Chapter 1, YouTube's strategy seemed to follow the advice of legendary baseball player Wee Willie Keeler: “Keep your eye clear, and hit 'em where they ain't.”

Keeler played right field for four Major League Baseball (MLB) teams from 1892 to 1910. So, in a parallel universe, his last MLB appearance was the year before the debut of “the YouTubes” in 1911. Nevertheless, YouTube partners will want to follow his advice too. Why? There are a couple of reasons.
