Chapter 5. Network Availability Technologies

Having discussed TelePresence technologies and how these interconnect and interoperate within a CTS system, attention can now expand to examining networking technologies that you need to deploy within a TelePresence-ready network infrastructure. Consider the first set of network technologies: availability technologies.

The goal of network availability technologies is to maximize network uptime and—conversely—to minimize network downtime so that the network is always ready to provide needed services to critical applications such as TelePresence.
