Motion settings allow you to move, rotate, zoom, and distort an image inside and outside the visible frame of the program view (Figure 14.1).
You can reposition a graphic to create a subtle logo "bug" in the corner of the screen, or fly titles and images wildly around the screen to promote a monster truck pull. By layering clips with motion settings, you can create a simple picture-in-picture effect, or compose several layers of video on the screen to create an elegant design. You can also create your own traveling mattes for track matte keys. As you learn about motion settings, try to look for ways to incorporate them with titles, effects, superimposing, or any other technique.
