Chapter 16. Preparing Movies for Streaming

If you’ve decided to deliver your QuickTime movies over the Internet, you’re not alone: QuickTime is one of the most popular video formats on the Web and the one that’s been used longest.

In this chapter, we’ll start by explaining the concept of streaming video and what it means in the context of QuickTime movies. In particular, we’ll discuss the two types of streaming that QuickTime allows: RTSP and HTTP. Then we’ll get into some specifics about how to best prepare QuickTime files for streaming by using QuickTime Player.
