Chapter 10. Working with Audio > Enhancing Audio

Enhancing Audio

When it comes to audio, Final Cut Pro X takes a dual approach to fixing mistakes. You can choose to engage an auto-pilot mode that automatically detects problems and applies recommended fixes. Conversely, an experienced operator can use an extensive collection of audio plug-ins to perform professional restoration. But these approaches aren’t exclusive. You can analyze for problems and then manually adjust if you are so inclined.

Analyzing Audio

To fix a clip, you need to know what’s “broken.” Fortunately, Final Cut Pro X makes this pretty simple. The clip you want to fix needs to be in the Timeline so it can be compared to other clips and evaluated in context. When it comes to fixing the problem, all the controls reside in the Audio Enhancements inspector.
