Our advice is learn and try each method, but ultimately choose the way that works for you and stick to it. This advice is particularly true when adding clips to the Timeline. You can use keyboard shortcuts or menus, or simply drag a clip where you want it to go.
Although there are many ways to edit, Final Cut Pro X offers three basic editing commands. You’ll use these three basic commands extensively when editing in the Timeline:
• Append a clip to your project. The most common edit you’ll make is an Append to End edit. This edit just places the clip (or clip range) you’ve selected in your Event Browser after the last clip in your Timeline.
