The process of editing requires a lot of thought and the ability to make decisions. Because people think (and work) quite differently, several tools have emerged (Figure 11.1). When choosing software, remember that there is no one- size-fits-all solution. You'll need to balance your needs to select the right tool. The following sections provide some selection criteria that you should be aware of. cost oF soFtware When you're looking at editing tools, you'll quickly discover that they vary dramati- cally in cost.
