7.1. Choose an Effect
When it comes to video, an effect can be as subtle as a minor color adjustment or as dramatic as a hallucinatory distortion of someone's face. In many ways, effects are similar to the transitions described in Chapter 6. The difference is that you always apply transitions to the ends of clips, while you can apply an effect to an entire clip.
Figure 7-1. In the Effects panel, the effects are grouped into categories, such as Adjust for color correction and Distort for dramatic image-twisting effects. The NewBlue effects are high-end effects developed by a third party but licensed by Adobe for inclusion in Premiere Elements.
