2. Evernote Everywhere, on Everything! > Saying Goodbye to Evernote

Saying Goodbye to Evernote

On the off chance that you want to do away with your Evernote account (or perhaps you’ve created more than one and you want to remove the one you no longer need), you can deactivate your account by going to the Evernote home page (www.evernote.com), logging in with your username and password, and clicking Settings. Click the Deactivate Account link and then confirm the process on the next page. The good news is that you can reactivate a deactivated account if you want; just log in using the same email address and password you used previously, and follow the steps Evernote offers you.

It’s Not All Good

The bad news about this process for privacy advocates is that Evernote says it doesn’t delete your notes. Fortunately, you still have options. If you’re concerned about information you’ve saved to your notebooks still being out there in the Internet ether, you can always reactivate your account, delete the notes you’re worried about, and deactivate Evernote once again.
