In this lesson, you get an overview of iCloud, learn how to obtain an account, and how to use your iCloud website.
iCloud is a service that connects your iOS devices, Macintosh computers, Windows computers, and Apple TVs to a “cloud,” which is a central repository for data storage that is available via the Internet. Each device stores data on the cloud and receives data from the cloud. In this way, all your devices can share the same information.
An iOS device runs Apple’s iOS operating system software. An iOS device is an iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. iCloud works very similarly on all these devices, which is why they are referred to together as iOS devices. When there are differences between them, you’ll see them spelled out. (In the context of iCloud, there aren’t many differences.)
