Working Offline

In today's world of hotspots and Wi‐Fi, it's hard to imagine ever being untethered from the Internet. Still, on those occasions when you can't get connected, you can use Offline Edition and hardly notice the difference. Offline Edition is a downloadable application that you access through a browser and has the same look and feel as its online big brother. Like a briefcase, the Offline Edition lets you carry a set of your Salesforce information. Offline Edition allows you to synchronize your accounts, contacts, opportunities, and activities, as well as leads, products, and schedules. Before you can run Offline Edition, you need to install the application, configure the Briefcase, and then update it when you run it the first time.

Installing Offline Edition

You'll know if you have Offline Edition by looking at the entitlements checked off at the top of your user page. (See the “Updating your user information” section to find out how to access your User page.) Installing the application is simple and fast.
