02 tHe GooGle doCs faMily: GooGle doCuMents writing on paper--like the kind made from the papyrus plant and used in ancient egypt, or the kind you'd buy in a store today--may seem old-fashioned, but compare it to your typical digital word processor today (like Microsoft word, or openoffice.org writer)... On paper, you can use any type of symbol, without having to worry about installing fonts. You can easily include your drawings without increasing the file size. You can get together with a small group to scribble along on the same paper in real time. You can underline, strikethrough, and use arrows and quick charts without knowing a single shortcut or location of a menu entry. Also, paper won't ask you to register before using it. What does Google documents (see Chapter 1 for an overview and introduction) have that paper
