    Craigslist Foundation: “Helping People Help”

    Created in 2000 by Craig Newmark and several others, the Craigslist Foundation (CraigslistFoundation.org) promotes social entrepreneurship. At first providing small grants and free web hosting, the foundation later launched the Nonprofit Venture Forum, a small-scale event that introduced grassroots organizations to potential donors.

    Unlike craigslist itself, the foundation spells the name with an initial cap: “Craigslist Foundation.”
