Setting the Landing Page of a Secure Zone

In this section, you’ll learn how to access the secure zone in the Admin Console and specify which page loads after visitors have successfully logged in.

1.
Switch to the browser window that contains the Admin Console and log in.

The Dashboard loads and the Live Feed section displays links to the recent site activity (FIGURE 7.17).

Figure 7.17. The Live Feed displays the recent secure zone and registration activity.

After interacting with the site, the database has gathered data about a Registration form submission and recorded the activity when the visitor logged in to the secure zone (named Members Only Area). By creating a single profile, you can already see more information appearing in the site’s Live Feed links.

2.
Choose Website > Secure Zones to access the list of existing secure zones.

At the moment, the site only contains one secure zone named Members Only Area. However, you can set up as many secure zones as you’d like for a site.

3.
Click the link to see the details for the Members Only Area secure zone.

The Secure Zone Details page appears. The Landing Page menu is set to display the Orders page. This menu enables you to choose any page in the site as the first page presented to registered visitors when they log in (FIGURE 7.18).

4.
Click the Next button to visit the next page of the Secure Zones section.

This interface enables you to specify the site content included in the password-protected area. The left side lists every page in the trial site. Any pages you move to the right side are automatically added to the secure zone.

Currently, only the Orders page is included in the secure zone.

5.
Use the menu above the list of pages to choose Forums. There’s only one forum created for the Trial site, and it’s named Forum.

Select the Forum page in the left pane and click the top right-pointing arrow to move it to the right pane. This operation moves it inside the secure zone (FIGURE 7.19).
