We’ve focused on what Facebook can offer—and indeed there’s a lot more that you can do with it, particularly if you want to go beyond the basics—but now it’s time for that other lovely social networking service, Twitter.
As I hinted at earlier when discussing the merits of Twitter versus Facebook, Twitter is a much simpler service to get your head around. It consists of status updates, better known on Twitter as tweets. And that’s it![21] As with Facebook, it’s easy to place tweets on your website. We’ll also see how you can add a Follow button to your site, and, finally, look at the mobile aspect of Twitter, which is where it really comes into its own.
