Sidebar Background

We’ll use the same technique described in Chapter 8 to achieve the “Sliding Faux Columns”—specifically the khaki background that sits behind the sidebar. Since we’ve specified the sidebar to be 30% in width, we’ll create a 2000-pixel-wide image (wrap-bg.gif) that has a 600-pixel-wide area on the right with the sidebar’s background color and shadowed edge (Figure 9.8). This will allow us to position this image 70% from the left, enabling it to slide behind the column to show only the amount of sidebar background necessary.
