Coordinating Implementation

That this chapter is presented after development does not mean that all planning for implementation occurs after development. As a verb, implement means “to carry out; to put into action; perform.”¹ Based on this definition, you could say you started implementing your site when you started planning your site. Or you could say that you started implementing your site when you started developing it.

This chapter describes taking your site live by considering implementation from three perspectives: technical, organizational, and human.

From a technical perspective, implementation tasks could range from making the site public to integrating the site into an existing system.
