Application Cache and API

On smartphones and tablet devices, if you want an application to always be available, then you need a native app. If you want to use an application from a website, then you need an Internet connection—that is, until application cache came along. Application cache means you can run online applications offline, not just on smartphones or tablets but on desktop browsers as well.

Table 13.2 shows the version of each browser that supports the application cache and API.
