Project Structure

It’s a good strategy to create folders on the Project Manager pod to house your topics. Segregating your topics by folder will make it easier to access and edit them later. In addition, when you create a TOC later in this module, the folders you create now will better enable you to quickly create an effective TOC that closely matches the structure you set up on the Project Manager pod.

Student Activity: Create Project Folders

1.
Ensure the Project Manager pod is open (View > Pods > Project Manager).

2.
Create a folder on the Project Manager pod.

  • click anywhere within the Project Manager pod

  • choose File > New > Folder

The new folder appears in the Project Files folder. By default, new folders are always called New_Folder.

  • change the name to General Office Information and press [Enter]

Because folder names cannot contain spaces, the new folder should now be named General_Office_Information.

3.
Move a topic into a project folder.

  • on the Project Manager pod, drag the Absentee Policy topic up and into the General_Office_Information folder

4.
