Breadcrumbs

Breadcrumbs provide an enhanced navigational aid to your Help system by adding links within the topics. These links display the user’s position within the Help system as it relates to the table of contents. You can define breadcrumbs in a Master Page or via the Properties of a Skin.

Student Activity: Add a Breadcrumb Placeholder to a Master Page

1.	Open a Master Page. on the Project Set-up pod, open the Master Pages folder (if necessary) double-click the SRT_Master Page to open the Master Page for editing
2.	Add a Breadcrumb Placeholder. click in the white space above the body placeholder choose Insert > Placeholder > Breadcrumbs The Breadcrumb Options dialog box appears. type [spacebar] > [spacebar] into the Separator field in the Format area, change the Font to Verdana and the Font Size to 10pt click OK
3.	Save and close the Master Page.
4.	Generate and View your project. There should be Breadcrumbs in any topics that follow the Master Page. [View full size image]
5.	When finished, close the browser and return to the RoboHelp project.
