Chapter 8. Themes > Summary

8.8. Summary

With this chapter now behind you, you should feel fairly confident about beginning to incorporate themes into your web projects. You have seen what themes are and learned how to incorporate them into your future projects. You have also seen some of the fairly significant shortcomings of CSS in themes and hopefully found a workaround that overcomes these issues for you. You have seen how to template your ASP.NET controls through the use of skins and have seen how images can be used as part of your theme as well. You have seen how to use this information to update an existing real-world application to a new themed model.

In the next chapter, you will see a little more on how to apply themes to your projects and gain an understanding of the pros and cons of these approaches. At that point, you should have a really good arsenal of aesthNETic tools to take forward into your future .NET web design projects.
