5.5. Retrieving Data from the Request

Now that you know all about passing data from the controller to a view, in this section you learn how to collect data from the request.

You have two ways of retrieving data: The first involves the usage of the action parameters, both for simple types (integer, strings, numeric, and so on) and, with the help of a ModelBinder, for complex types (your own model objects). The second involves using the ModelBinder directly inside the action method.
