Designing prominent action points

This is probably one of the simplest UI patterns described in this book, yet, it is so powerful, and enables your users to get to the tasks and features as fast as possible. Clear entry points can really make your application stand out, but they are not suitable for every type of application or interface.

Their main purpose is to enable users to get to a specific part of the application or website, or to show off the most prominent action. As such, applications utilizing this UI pattern are mostly task oriented and are, in most cases, used rather infrequently.
