This book discusses how critical search usuability is to a user's experience on a website.  Key concepts are succinctly explained (SEO, SERP, bounce rate, etc).  What I found most enjoyable was how the authors relate the material to a person's every day life, using examples from the real world (such as the "You are here" label on a mall's directory map).  Also, what I found interesting was the common terms that are discussed, such as "above the fold", scent of information, Iceberg effect, pogo sticking, etc.
The book concludes with some guidelines regarding focus groups and usability testing.  Most of all, it imparts how vital it is to know your users.   To quote from the authors, "If you do not take the time to understand your users, you can expect they will abandon your site."  Words to build websites by.
