13.1. Securing Your WebSphere Environment

In an Application Server environment, security is an important feature and you will need to give it serious consideration. Security can mean a lot of things when setting up and managing a production environment with WebSphere. Apart from application security, there is web server security, Application Server security, network security, and so forth. This chapter concentrates on application server security from a WebSphere configuration standpoint. It will not cover security from the J2EE programming model’s perspective—you can refer to chapter 16, Securing Application in WebSphere, for this information.
