VoiceXML

VoiceXML

VoiceXML (also called VXML as an abbreviation) is a standard based on XML. Its purpose is to act as a standard for facilitating interactive voice discussions between a human being and a computer. We know that a Web browser can interpret and display the contents of an HTML document. In a similar fashion, VoiceXML documents are interpreted by a browser that is based on voice.

The basic concept is illustrated in Figure 4.
