50. Age is Irrelevant

Image Missing

50 AGE IS IRRELEVANT

Collier states, ‘Youth is not a matter of time. It is a mental state. The whole purpose of existence is Growth. Life is dynamic – not static. It is ever moving forward – not standing still.’ Indeed, when we stop growing, we stagnate and die. Years don't matter, but using your brain does!

If you were to visit the School Sisters of Notre Dame nunnery in remote Mankato, Minnesota, you would find that many of the sisters are older than ninety. Sister Marcella Zachman didn't stop teaching until she was ninety-seven, while Sister Mary Esther Boor worked the front desk until she was ninety-nine! Both featured in a 1994 story in Life magazine.

DEFINING IDEA…

Forty is the old age of youth; fifty is the youth of old age.

~ VICTOR HUGO, FRENCH WRITER AND STATESMAN
