Undoubtedly, there are many things in your action-packed days that you wish you could get to. My mom, Pat, a busy and dynamic school teacher, and I would excitedly recite a mantra as I was growing up: "There's not enough time!" We always said it in mock jest, but now, as a professional myself I feel the time-pinch even more acutely. It is so easy to fall into the trap of thinking that time dictates your choices. In the face of other necessities, kindness often gets pushed to the last on your list of daily activities. Avoiding that trap will help you to recognize that you do have enough time for whatever you choose to be your priorities. The "I'm too busy" excuse is really a way of saying "It's not a priority" or "I'm not that interested."
