3.1. The Problem

The new fictitious sport of XFormBall is all the rage, and you're in charge of the calendar for your state's XFormBall association. The state is divided into five regions: Northern, Eastern, Southern, Western, and Central. Competitors are divided into age groups: Kids, Cadets, Juniors, and Adults. Each division holds several tournaments in one of two styles: Traditional and Extreme. Until this point, you have received division schedules in a dizzying variety of formats, and it's been a headache to put them into a standard arrangement.

You'd like to have the regional directors enter their tournament information into a web form. This information will go into an XML file that you can manipulate and transform to XHTML, PDF, etc. Figure 3 shows what the form will look like:
