In this introduction to jQuery Mobile training course, renowned author and developer Chris Converse teaches you fundamental techniques for creating a mobile website using the jQuery Mobile Framework. Well known for his concise, straight-to-the-point training methods, Chris packs a vast amount of learning into a short time period. Using these videos, and having no prior knowledge about JQuery, I built a fully functioning mobile website for a client in an afternoon.

This is one of the best videos I have seen on this topic. As another reviewer said, you should be familiar with HTML and CSS before watching.  

When I was done, I felt confident to pick up the ball and run with it. Not scratching my head feeling dizzy. I think it's because the project is simple. The author takes you through it without hopping around.  

He does get a bit speedy when writing code. So if you are typing along expect to pause and rewind some.  Or, type faster :)

This was a nice summary of how you can quickly create a jQuery Mobile website. Would recommend it for for people that know what html is and the basics of tags and CSS. However, as mentioned in the videos, reading the documentation on the jquery mobile website gives you much more details on how to use it. I was surprised that he did not talk about reducing the numbers of HTTP request, but instead gladly added a bunch of external files, in contrast to the recommendations for performance, which is to embed small JavaScript etc...
