This video series is based on a book that the presenter wrote, so the content is extremely well organized. The pacing is excellent, and I felt like I completely understood the concepts presented at the end of every video.
I almost rated this four stars because of the extremely annoying 70 second commercial at the end of almost every video, but the content is good enough to rate this five stars.

This is the best Java video lessons that Safari has so far. The only problem you'll have is it seems at least to me that a book is a must because this video is based on his How to Java Program Seventh Edition. There are many parts which need the book. The videos were sort of blurred.

This is a great basic intro to JAVA video series. In many ways, it's just like having someone read you an introductory text book. Great for the gym or the treadmill.
I like to listen to such things while I work out, and at the end of every episode is a 2min 20 second commercial for LiveLessons --the producer of the video-- akin to the worst Enzyte commercials on the net.
I keep waiting for the shouting --the commercials are 2x louder than the lesson content-- salesperson at the end to try to sell me enlargement for that 'certain male...' The commercial is annoying, breaks up the content, is so loud that I have to stop working out and shut the blasted video down, and why should I hear it at all past the first or last lesson in each chapter. How is 'play it all' worth anything if I have to stop every 2 - 14 min and fastforward using clunky controls.
I feel very sorry for anyone who purchased the DVDs; imagine paying for this and only this lecture series and being yelled at every 5 minutes. Dear gods, ahg... horrible.
Watch the videos for their solid content on introductory language fundamentals, but hate the LiveLessons company for their constant and irritating shilling, which negatively affects my review of their course content.
